Signed G. Opdyke Windmill Landscape in Solid Wood Frame
A quietly atmospheric estate-found landscape featuring a traditional windmill beneath a softly muted sky. Signed “G. Opdyke” at the lower right, the work has a watercolor-like quality and is painted on an unusual finely woven, textured support that appears similar to cotton or linen.
The painting was professionally framed by the Paul Sawyier Gallery in Frankfort, Kentucky, a longtime local fine art gallery that served the community for more than 40 years. It remains in its solid wood frame with the original professional backing intact.
The warm, subdued palette and visible woven texture give the landscape wonderful depth and character, while its smaller scale makes it an easy piece to incorporate into a gallery wall, study, bookshelf vignette, or collected interior.
Approximate dimensions:
Frame: 14” × 10”
Visible artwork: 11 1/4” × 8 1/2”
Signed: G. Opdyke
Condition: Estate-found vintage condition with age-appropriate wear to the frame. The exact age, medium, and composition of the textured support are unknown. The professional backing has been left intact and the artwork has not been removed from the frame.
