A fragment of something once complete—now standing quietly on its own.

This French clock base, originally part of a larger composition, has been separated and kept for what remains: a solid marble platform framed in gilt bronze, resting on ornate feet. The form still carries the language of its origin—decorative, balanced, and made to elevate what is placed upon it.

The marble top is substantial and cool-toned, with a visible circular impression at center where the original bronze figure once sat. Along one side, there is light white discoloration within the stone. These marks remain as part of its history, not removed or disguised.

Measuring approximately 5.5 inches across and standing just under 3 inches in height, it has a compact but grounded presence. The underside retains its original felt, worn but intact. Total weight is approximately 2 lbs. 10 oz.

Now reimagined as a small riser, it lends itself easily to layered interiors—perfect beneath a stack of books, a small bust, or a singular object that calls for elevation without excess.

A piece not restored, but reinterpreted.
