Vintage Italian Marble & Gilt Cherub Pedestal Riser | Repurposed Lamp Base Display Stand
A piece composed, rather than simply found.
Once a lamp base, this substantial vintage piece has been thoughtfully repurposed as a decorative pedestal riser while preserving the beauty of its original form. Four sculptural cherubs support a square marble top, creating a striking contrast between cool stone and richly aged gilt metal.
The base is heavily ornamented with classical detailing, scrollwork, and sculptural figures, while the marble top adds a quieter architectural element. Together, the materials give the piece wonderful visual weight and presence.
At just under nine inches square, the marble surface is large enough to elevate a small bust, vessel, cloche, stack of books, or other collected object while remaining compact enough for a dressing table, sideboard, bookshelf, or study.
At more than twelve pounds, this is a genuinely substantial piece. It feels less like a decorative accessory and more like a small architectural element—one that can anchor a vignette or stand beautifully on its own.
Repurposed, not forgotten.
