Vintage 1976 AQHA Grand Champion Stallion Trophy | American Quarter Horse Association
A substantial piece of American equestrian history, this 1976 American Quarter Horse Association Grand Champion Stallion trophy was awarded in Anchorville, Michigan and weighs an impressive 8 pounds, 2 ounces.
The trophy features a beautifully modeled stallion in a silver-tone finish, mounted on a warm wood base with its original metal presentation plaque. The plaque reads “Grand Champion Stallion” and identifies the award as presented by the American Quarter Horse Association in 1976.
The underside is marked Custom Trophies Inc., Amarillo, Texas, appropriately placing its manufacture in the heart of American Quarter Horse country.
At 10 inches tall and more than eight pounds, this is no lightweight decorative horse. It has genuine presence and would make an exceptional addition to a collection of vintage equestrian memorabilia, AQHA history, Quarter Horse collectibles, horse show trophies, Western décor, or sporting antiques.

The right rear leg has a noticeable area of copper, blue, and iridescent discoloration/finish wear, which has been photographed closely for reference. We have not attempted to determine or correct the cause of this finish variation. The leg remains structurally intact.
Additional age-related wear is visible to the silver-tone finish, base, and presentation plaque.
Vintage piece. Age-appropriate wear expected.
