An estate-sourced French portrait miniature, delicately rendered and housed within a gilt metal frame crowned by an ornate bow.

Hand-painted on what appears to be porcelain, the portrait depicts a young woman in 18th-century dress—powdered hair, ribboned hat, and softly modeled features. The work carries a quiet refinement typical of French miniature portraiture, intended for intimate display.

The piece is signed “Juny” along the lower edge of the portrait.

The reverse retains its original red fabric backing with a handwritten label that reads:

“2362. Mlle Dugazon”

“Mlle Dugazon” refers to Mademoiselle Dugazon, a name associated with a noted French operatic performer of the late 18th century. While the inscription suggests a connection, this piece is presented as a decorative portrait miniature and is not authenticated as a confirmed likeness.

The frame features a gilt metal surround with a decorative bow crest at the top. An integrated easel stand and hanging loop allow the piece to be displayed either on a surface or mounted on the wall.

A quietly expressive object—suited for a dressing table, layered wall, or cabinet of collected works.
