A quietly remarkable study in ornament, symmetry, and historical design.

This antique German architectural engraving depicts two finely rendered tomb or sarcophagus designs dating to the period 1600–1630. Printed in delicate tones of soft blue-gray and warm gilt, the composition captures the intricate scrollwork, columns, and decorative motifs characteristic of early Baroque metalwork and monumental design.

At the upper right, the plate is numbered 11, and the lower margin bears the printer’s imprint:

“Druckerei v. August Osterrieth Frankfurt a. M.”

The engraving was printed in Frankfurt, Germany, and likely originated from a late 19th or early 20th century architectural reference volume documenting historic decorative arts and European craftsmanship.

Professionally presented in a substantial silver-toned frame with beaded inner trim, the piece offers an elegant, scholarly presence suited to libraries, studies, and collected interiors.

The palette is especially refined—cool steel-blue ornament contrasted with muted gold details—making this work feel both architectural and unexpectedly modern.

Collected slowly. Chosen with care.
