Antique English Flow Blue Miniature Creamer | Cobalt Floral Transferware Pitcher
A petite antique English Flow Blue creamer featuring rich cobalt blue floral transfer decoration, a scalloped gilt rim, and a softly fluted body. At just 2¾ inches tall, this diminutive pitcher is a charming example of traditional blue-and-white transferware and an especially pretty piece for a china cabinet, shelf, or collected tabletop.
The floral decoration displays the characteristic softly blurred cobalt coloring associated with Flow Blue wares. Gold gilt follows the scalloped upper rim, while the molded and fluted form gives the small creamer considerably more detail than its size might suggest.
A period-style backstamp is present on the underside, although the maker has not been positively identified. An old paper label on the base is handwritten “1881.” Because the number appears on a later paper label rather than as part of the ceramic backstamp, it should not be interpreted as a confirmed manufacture date.
A lovely little piece for collectors of antique Flow Blue, English transferware, blue-and-white china, Victorian tableware, miniature pitchers, and antique cabinet pieces.
